Crafts & Kindness Club
Hello! Welcome to the Crafts & Kindness Club page. The Crafts & Kindness Club is a special club where the participants (grades 2-6) learn new handcrafting skills using paint, clay, needle felting, printing, leather, alcohol inks, fabric, jewelry, and/or metal. While honing their crafting skills, they will also create beautiful and thoughtful items for themselves AND others. These after-school crafting sessions (4:15-6:15 pm) are offered in a package of 6 sessions with 2 per month. Upcoming dates are: 10/14, 10/21, 11/4, 11/11,12/2, 12/9.
This special art club has been created with the idea that spreading kindness and "paying it forward" is essential to developing the human spirit. Students will be utilizing high-quality materials to make their products.
Additionally, students will learn a little about the nonprofit or entity their items are being made for and can enclose a note of kindness with their handcrafted items. Examples of items on our schedule are: stuffed animal teddy bears with handpainted shirts and supportive handcrafted necklaces for the bear OR the recipient; beautiful handmade specialty soaps and polymer clay soap dishes; leather dog collars for animal shelters and leather bracelets for our students (all dyed and stamped with metal tags); handcrafted containers for flower arrangements for the elderly; polymer clay backpack charms that hold supportive hidden messages for kids who have experienced loss; handpainted fabric bags to hold essential items for those experiencing homelessness; metal stamped zipper pulls for winter jackets being distributed to kids...
Expanding artistic abilities while expanding hearts! If interested, please register below. This club is limited to 9 students.
